Body Perfection is the Main Enemy

Wednesday, August 25, 2010 Comments (1)

Seeking body perfection is the main enemy and discourager of women staying active and being happy. Which is more important to you?

Enhance the mundane grind with movement

Wednesday, August 25, 2010 Comments (0)

We love women/moms who revel in being grinders - who enjoy the mundane day in day out routines that make up the majority of our days. If we are honest with ourselves, people who can settle in and enjoy these routines are the ones who can stick to budgets and can stick to a workout routine. So why not embrace the grind, pride yourself in being a grinder!

Be a hero to your kids by showing joy for the repetitive things that can wear us down. A great way to fuel up for these activities is to break them up with peiods of activity, even small 5-10 minutes of activity. Make your walk to the bus a brisker walk.  Kids love to be pushed in strollers faster, make it a race car. Put some headphones on with your favorite tune that energizes you while doing it.

If your reality feels like a never ending hampster wheel that has you scratching your head for work out time, then force fit your routine to become part of your exercise or movement time.  Its much better to have small pockets of movement or exercise, rather than a procrastinated major workout that never seems to happen.

Sweaty Hair is a Top Deterrent

Wednesday, August 25, 2010 Comments (0)

Top reason women don't want to work out is because they don't want to sweat their hair out.  Time your workout before your normal shower. It does take time to get that hair just right.  We want to feel good and working out as well as having your hair 'done' is a big part of that. We enourage even small mini workouts instead of large, inconsistent long ones.

See if you can set aside 10-15 minutes for exercise before you normally shower.

Let your Kids see you....

Extreme Tubing at it's Best

Tuesday, August 3, 2010 Comments (0)

Thanks to my friends for taking my family and me out on the boat this past weekend! My girls had a fabulous time and we are so thankful for friends with boats! I have to say though, that boating is not for the weak and fragile. Nor can it be said that boating is relaxing and restful. At least not for me.
