Choose Happy

I believe happiness is a choice. It’s not always an easy choice. Sometimes it can be downright hard to feel cheery. If you want to experience happiness you may consider to try and “live happiness”. To me that means making on-purpose-choices that help you to be happy. Here are some tips that can help.
1. The good thing about happiness is that you are the boss of the emotion. You can control how you feel and how you carry yourself. On a daily basis make a choice to be happy. Smile out loud and carry yourself in such away that others notice a bounce.
2. Being happy doesn’t mean you have to be fake either. It can be genuine. There is no doubt that there will be many moments in your life when you would rather close the curtains, roll over and go to bed for eternity. And you need to be able to express disappointment, sadness and anger when life throws you a curve ball. Part of being happy is being able to share your true emotions with others and be real with yourself. Once we have come through a hard time we will be able to smile and start working through whatever tossed us off the tracks. To do so, you will need a positive attitude.
3. No one has ever found true happiness without being positive. Some say this is idealistic but I believe that we need to focus on the positive things around us if we want to feed ourselves with happiness. And we have the innate ability to feed others with our attitude. Being positive is a great way to look through the magnifying glass. If we can watch out for positive things that are happeneing right in front of us we will be a happier person.
4. Having said that you’re going to need to hang out with positive people. There is nothing more debilitating than a negative person. It takes so much energy to be around someone negative. Find people in your network that want to live life to the fullest. Avoid people who enjoy gossip and seek out those who aren’t afraid to admit their own faults and are constantly trying to become a better person. These people are inspiring. The more your surround yourself with positive relationships the more contagious it becomes and you will notice the difference in your mind, body and soul.(As a side note I am not saying your shouldn’t help out people in tough situations, but I do believe that if people are not in the right mind to receive help and positive encouragement then you will be drained at end of the day).
5. Exercise. Being active is a part of being happy. Our bodies were made to move. Our design is so incredible! How can we just let it sit there and do nothing? Being active illicit happy feelings. This has been proven by doctors. Whether we are taking part in formal exercise or simply be active through walking, biking or hiking, we will find happiness through movement and activity.
7. This may be the most challenging but we need to let go of negative thoughts and feelings. These energies are quite the load to bear. Forgiving others and moving on are things that may take a long time to learn but they can’t be ignored. Our health depends on it. Carrying bitterness or grudges takes a toll on the body. Letting go will give you feeelings of peace and an ability to move forward.
All of the above are choices we can make each day to become happy. You have the choice. I hope you choose Happy.
Have a Happy Day!
